What Our Customers Are Saying
On top of the world! On a partly cloudy, windy day we had the most incredible view of the surrounding ding area and felt like we were on top of the world!! The ride was surprisingly smooth and quiet once we were up there. It was so cool to see people from all over the world enjoying the experience at the summit.
Grizzly spotted. We caught the free shuttle from the Fairmont in the early afternoon with the hope of seeing a grizzly. Unfortunately when we arrived there had not been any sightings for that day. There is a seating are inside where the ticket office is and provides nice views looking up the mountain. A small cafe provides hot drinks.
Go early for breakfast. The gondola is a nice trip to the top of the mountain with views of Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. We went early which was nice for some good views and also a hot buffet breakfast only added $3 to the price of the gondola ride and was definitely a good value. Even on a partly cloudy morning there were...
Up close and Personal with a Grizzly Bear. Walking on a trail outside the fence line l had a 800 lb young male grizzly walk across path only 5m away. I had my bear spray out and ready to use if needed. We looked eyes but l was wearing sun glasses which he was unable to see my eyes that was a good thing!
Great views and grizzly bear sighting! Get here early! Took free shuttle from Lake Louise Chateau and got right on at 9 am. Took the enclosed gondola up and saw a grizzly right under us eating berries. Visited the interpretive center at the top and the deck/weather station. Beautiful views at the top and on the ride. Took the open seating on the way down, very...
Very much worth it. We took warm jackets, sunscreen and cameras with us. The ride was very smooth and lovely, but the view on the top, and the excellent restaurant was even better.
Hiking Too. Beautiful views on this 10 minute ride each way. The gondolas are clean and felt safe even to someone like me that's afraid of heights. Coffee shop with fantastic views. Best part was being able to hike to the tip top!
Super nice, incredible views and nice hiking at the top. Very glad we decided to take the gondola. Pretty cool to gain elevation so fast and get up high to enjoy the view of Lake Louise from a different perspective. We took one of the trails to another super nice view point. Would do it again!
Fantastic Views! We went one of the last days of the season so it was a bit chilly. We chose to ride the open air chair lift and LOVED IT! We dressed for the cold so we were fine but most people choose the closed Gondola. The ride up was so neat with the expectation of seeing wildlife. While we didn't see...
Even on a cloudy day... ...the views were spectacular. Don't miss this one. We chose the open chair option, which was a bit scary but really fun. Unfortunately, the wildlife stayed home this day, but it was still very worthwhile.
Views forever. We visited during the off season and were able to walk onto the gondola but I imagine in peak season it could take quite some time so suggest pre booking if possible. Last car up changes according to season. Bears are more often seen in the mornings. The views are spectacular once reaching the top and there are numerous trails...
Perfected with a light fluffy snowfall. I've had a season pass for snowboarding at lake Louise for the last 4 years. During those 4 years and prior I have never felt the need to go up the gondola in the summer. I expected an average ride up and not much to do once there, but was pleasantly surprised. The ride up was beautiful and felt like a completely different...
Wine in the Clouds with the best views. Best part of an amazing trip out west. We had been told this was the best gondola area and have done the Jasper gondola and Banff and this is the best. Lake Louise in front of you and restaurant patio perfect for wine or tea. Interpretive centre excellent too. 5 star.
Lovely!! It was a lovely sunny day so we took the chair both up and down as opposed to the closed in gondola. The scenery is lovely and you can see lake Louise in the distance on the way down. We were hoping to see a bear or two but no luck - plenty of electric fences, though, to keep them away from the tourists!! We enjoyed the ride and the views!
Get away from all the crowds! We hadn't planned on going on the gondola, but as the road to Maligne Lake was closed due to the volume of traffic, we thought we would give it a go and I'm pleased we did! It was so quiet when we arrived (12pm), no queues and even though we didn't see any bears the scenery was stunning.
Great views. You can go up in a covered gondola or a chair lift. Hubby wanted to go on the chair lift so I spent the trip up & down holding on tight & eyes firmly closed so probably missed some great views! When you get there the views over Lake Louise are wonderful. It's quite expensive but it's a tourist attraction. Worth a visit on a clear day.
One of the highlights of our trip! We took the chair lift rather than the enclosed gondola and it was worth it! We went on several in this area and this was, by far, our favorite!!
A lovely trip and spectacular views. On a beautiful day, the Lake Louise Gondola is the best. A very HIGH, distant view of Lake Louise is the reward from the top. Occasionally a ranger is at the top offering information and even an animal skin or two (this was our only way to see a wolverine).
Beautiful and relaxing! We rode an open chairlift to the top (or as far as possible in the summer). The views were wonderful. It was one of our favorite things about this trip, as we were away from the crowds. We ate breakfast, prior to the chairlift-there is a combo ticket for the lift and a breakfast buffet- it is a good value.
Worth it - can't beat the views!! The views from the top are spectacular and it's fun to ride the ski lift, too. Definitely choose the open-air ski lift chairs! They have a nice interpretive/educational center at the top and the folks who work there are really helpful and knowledgeable. We didn't see any bears, but we certainly learned a lot about them...
Stunning views. A must do for this area. The view from the overlook at the gondola was just beautiful. Option of enclosed or exposed ride up and down. We tried both and the open was a much better ride.
Great view of Lake Louise. We took the ski lift to the top where there is an interpretive center and a restaurant. We got up there too late to eat, but did check out the interpretive center. On our way to the interpretive center we spotted a grizzly bear grazing in the grasses just below where the path was. It was fun just watching him eat.
View to a Kill! We took the gondola up the mountain on a partially sunny day. We chose enclosed due to the breeze, but the young and adventurous hit the open chairs. A short walk down hill, that means it's a little up hill on your return, to the restaurant is certainly worth it. You can sit, drink, snack, or dine overlooking a breathtaking view.
Amazing Views of Lake Louise and a delicious meal at the top of the Gondola. This is a great gondola trip especially if you have just visited Lake Louise. We were lucky that is was a beautiful sunny day the day we went up and the views were breathtaking. We could see Lake Louise, Victoria Glacier and the Chateau as well scenic mountains...
Great views, great breakfast. Minimal snow around but cold as, wrap up warm. Book the breakfast and gondola trip, it's an extra $3 and I figured even if it was only a coffee and Danish that would be fine. But it was cold stuff, hot food, toast, waffles, coffee, juice. Everything you could ask for.
Best gondola ride. We rode the gondolas in Jasper and Banff but for me this was the best of the lot. Open ski lift style was great as was view towards Lake Louise. Very interesting wildlife displays and centre at the top. Also, nice outside terrace restaurant with stunning vie
